Ministries

Card Caring Ministry: This ministry consists of a team of people, each of whom takes one month a year, who sends appropriate cards to those on the prayer list in the bulletin.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: This group knits or crochets shawls to give as gifts to GriefSHARE participants and to members who have lost a loved one.

Shuttle Ministry: The purpose of the shuttle ministry is to provide transportation to and from church services for those who otherwise could not attend.

Quarterly Prayer Card Weekend Ministry: This purpose is to include visitors to our Church and our members in a specific prayer for whatever the situation, problem, etc.; may be. Nobody needs/has to provide a name when filling out the card; all they do is write what they need a prayer for.

Yearly Evangelism Weekend Ministry: This purpose is bringing to the congregation the many different ministries in the world through the LCMS that share God's Word. We invite a group to visit our Church and share with us their ministry along with what programs they have to get God's Word out to both the community and to the rest world.

Bret Miller Memorial Fund: This ministry is done every year on Memorial Day Weekend in rememberance of a fellow brother in Christ who lost his life in a training accident. The congregation takes up a collection during this weekend and throughout the year if they so chose, this collection is then sent to the Armed Services Chaplaincy of Missouri Synod. This money is then used to support and help provide our pastors out in the field with the means and the materials they need for their work in sharing God's Word to and with our fellow brothers and sisters in the military.

Evangelism Fourth of July Tent: This purpose is to promote both Good Shepherd Church and School to the community. We provide information for both the church and the school; we also share with the community our upcoming VBS (Vacation Bible School) program that the parents with children may bring their kids of all ages for activities, games, crafts, etc.

Free at Last Prison Ministry Back Packs: This ministry collects toiletries, Portals of Prayer devotion books, New Testament Bibles (Gideon), granola bars, etc., and packs them into different back packs (blue: men, red: women) and provide them for every inmate that is released from prison after having been incarcerated.

Monthly Praise and Devotion at East Troy Manor: This ministry meets once at the end of the month for half a hr. at the East Troy Manor, to bring God's Word to the elderly who are unable to attend church. We sing new and old familiar hymns, and then share a devotion with God's Word, closing in the Lord's Prayer.
