Committees

 

New Member Welcome Committee: This committee organizes yearly pot-luck dinners for new members and provides occasional Sunday morning coffee/cookie events to welcome new members into our church.

 

Public Relations Committee: This committee represents the congregation in community activities and keeps the congregation informed of social, political, and economic developments within the community.  They communicate with other Churches to improve the Christian image of the community and the church's mission. Maintain contact with benevolent and charitable agencies at the local, state, and national level; make recommendations to the congregation on opportunities for service. Establish and maintain a continuing program of publicity for the congregation and its activities, which reflect favorably on the congregation and its commitment to the Gospel of Christ. Supervise the church's internet site and take advantage of any other new technologies to enhance communication between the church and the local community. Maintain the church's bulletin boards and signage, both indoors and outdoors, and suggest appropriate themes and messages for display.

 

GSL Website Committee: Volunteers program and update our church's website on a monthly basis.

 

Parish Fellowship Committee: This committee helps strengthen the fellowship between the congregation members both spiritually and socially. This includes integrating new members into the life of the congregation and the promotion of cooperation, trust and enjoyment among members. Plan, supervise and implement gatherings of new members and their families into the congregation through fellowship activities, such as: fellowship night, dinners, rallies, seasonal activities, etc. Help develop policies and rules for the use of the church facilities along with the Board of Trustees. Maintain and promote a weekly and monthly schedule of activities within the church facilities in coordinaction with the church secretary.

 

Welcome Bread Visits: This committee consists of a team of people, each of whom takes one month of the year , who makes a personal visit to those who have visited our church during the month. They leave a gift of bread or cookies and information about our Church.
